A Vala, one of the Aratar, second in rank to Manwë, called Lord of Waters and King of the Sea, The name was interpreted by the Eldar to mean 'The Pourer' or 'The Rainer'.

Ungoliant
The great spider, destroyer with Melkor of the Two Trees of Valinor. Shelob in LOTR was 'the last child of Ungoliant to trouble the unhappy world' (The Two Towers IV 9).

Union of Maedhros
The league formed by Maedhros to defeat Morgoth that ended in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad.

Urthel
One of the twelve companions of Barahir on Dorthonion.

Uruks
The name of Orcs in their own language.

Urulóki   fire-serpent
Quenya word for the dragons.
